Plastic Surgery of the Face

Plastic Surgery of the Face
This is a rare book by Dr. Gillies, the first individual to conduct a Female-to-Male sex reassignment surgery: In 1945, he and a colleague carried out the world’s first sex change of a woman into a man on a young aristocrat, Michael Dillon, formerly Laura. While this work does not mention transgenders at all, it’s author is very significant to transgender history and this represents the culmination of his work with the “flap technique” which he later used in FTM surgeries. Plastic Surgery of the Face; Based on Selected Cases of War Injuries of The Face; Including Burns; With Illustrations.
